Training Providers
The following is a list of the public and private training institutions throughout British Columbia that are designated by the ITA to offer apprenticeship technical training and/or pre-apprenticeship Foundation programs for credit towards your apprenticeship. If you are already an apprentice and know which trade you wish to take training in, you can also go to the list of Apprenticeship Programs on this site, and select Training Providers for your trade

Apprentices are responsible for informing themselves regarding the technical training they are required to complete as part of their apprenticeship and for locating and registering with an institution that can provide it. Technical training should be scheduled in consultation with your employer, at a time that is mutually convenient.

Like other post-secondary students, apprentices and trainees are responsible for covering a portion of the costs of their classroom instruction (though some employers may pay a portion, or all of these costs). Costs and program lengths vary from institution to institution. When researching technical training options, you should look into both tuition, and other costs such as books and service fees that you may be responsible for.

Before registering for training at an institution or for a program that is not on this list, or for any training outside of British Columbia, please check with
ITA Customer Service to ensure that the institution or program is recognized by the ITA and that you will be able to receive credit.
The Trades Training Consortium of BC maintains a web site of BC Apprentice Training Schedules where you can access information on trade programs offered at public post-secondary institutions, and link to each institution's website.   The site is sponsored by the Province of British Columbia’s Post Secondary educational providers of Trades Training. The BC Post Secondary educational system is the major deliverer of Apprentice and Foundation training with over a 100 different programs.

The B.C. Council on Admissions and Transfer maintains a web site called
Education Planner where you can access admissions information on programs at public post-secondary institutions, and links to each institution's website. Education Planner contains a searchable database that provides details on more than 1,500 undergraduate programs offered at these institutions, including foundation and apprenticeship programs. You can search the database by field, subject, secondary school focus area, program length, or institution. The site also includes apprenticeship contact information and program lists for each public post-secondary institution.
