Outlined are the transition requirements for apprentices from the existing Architectural Sheet Metal Worker program to the new Architectural Sheet Metal Worker program commencing January 1, 2010.

The number of workplace hours required for an apprentice to complete the program and to be certified depends upon the date technical training is completed. Apprentices who complete their technical training before December 31, 2009 require a total of 3200 workplace hours to acquire a Certification of Qualification.
Apprentices who complete their technical training from January 1, 2010 onward must meet the new workplace hour requirement of 4800 hours to acquire a Certification of Qualification.
