Copper Mountain Mine - Princeton
After taking an extensive tour of the mine site, we had the chance to talk to Kim Vokey, HR for Copper Mountain, about their apprenticeship system and why it works so well. All of their apprentices are home grown and taught from the ground up which leads to high employee retention and great quality work.
Copper Mountain mine is located in Princeton and covers approximately 18,000 acres and employs over 420 staff. Since commencing mining operations in the second half of 2011, the Company has achieved production of 77.6 million pounds of copper, 29 thousand ounces of gold and 276 thousand ounces of silver.
