Trades Initiative Provides Community With Skills To Rebuild

The community-based training model brings skilled trades training to Indigenous communities to remove barriers for Indigenous people in the skilled trades.

Funded by ITA, the Xaadgee tl’a hlGangulee ‘aayaagaa (Trades Training Initiative) at Old Massett Village Council is helping the community rebuild. The community-based training model brings skilled trades training to Indigenous communities to remove barriers for Indigenous people in the skilled trades.  Not only do participants learn new skills, but they are given the given the tools to pass onto the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
